Quick Tour of Hannover and First Day of Work

May 24, 2014

As I enjoy walking a lot, I walked around the city of Hannover. I purposely got lost in the city so that I could experience the city and run into things unexpectedly. I enjoyed and appreciated the old buildings in the city.

While I was eating Müsli (my favorite German breakfast), one thing struck me. It felt as though nothing have changed from the time I was here in Germany last summer.

I have just had a typical German food, "Mett". It was like jam made of meat, and it was quite good. I would not have known about this food if I did not interact with native Germans.
PhD student I am working with, Alexander, gave me tasks that I will be doing over the following 10 weeks. The task sounds very interesting, and I hope to do a fine job.

Off to Germany!

May 22

Journey begins today as I fly across the Atlantic Ocean to arrive at Hannover, Germany. It hasn't really hit me yet that I will be spending 10 weeks in Hannover, but I sure am excited for the upcoming opportunity.
